Lumiason plays Pieces for the Archive III

Lumiason: Miriam Akkermann (Live-Elektronik), Eunice Martins (Klavier, Voc.) und Laura Mello (Klavier, Voc., Live-Elektronik)

25.05.16 Concert @ Arsenal Berlin

Pieces for the Archive III is a performance consisting of a live composition established in interaction with selected experimental shorts as they are screened.

Miriam Akkermann (live electronics), Eunice Martins (piano, vocals) and Laura Mello (piano, vocals, live electronics) will perform a live composition that interacts directly with selected short films. Inspired by parameters such as movement, color quality and light intensity of the images, new correspondences between live composition and experimental films are created, which also move independently in time beyond the length of the film. The live sounds are distributed across the 16 channels of the cinema’s sound system. A key element of the overall composition and the focus of the project is to work out the sonority of the film image and the cinema space. Films by Peter Hutton, MM Serra, Patrice Kirchhofer, Stephan Sachs, Doris Schmid and Heiko Arendt, among others.
